16 coloured pages!
3rd book in a series of 13 beautifully illustrated children's books of iconic Australian creatures.

This Tree kangaroo kids’ book is about a joey learning to climb. There is no shortage of encouragement.

In the beginning, Bobby lives in his mother’s pouch, while she climbs around the trees. A green tree snake is dangling on a branch watching. Further on, a frog mouth owl is sitting below the climbers. A Cairns birdwing and many Ulysses butterflies are fluttering around. Check out my book Lyssie the Butterfly

Later, the Tree kangaroo parents encourage him to climb by himself. His mother is shows him how to climb a tree. Bobby thinks it must be a lot of fun. A cassowary is walking by.

Afterwards, Bobby’s father shows him also to climb a tree. He is telling his son about the great view from up high. An Azure Kingfisher is sitting on a nearby rainforest tree. Now, Bobby is eager to try climbing for himself.

Bobby scratches around a tree trunk he wants to climb. A sulphur-crested cockatoo calls out encouragement.

Finally, he climbs a tree and his mother follows him. A colourful rainbow lorikeet is watching the show from a nearby tree.

Also, Cassy the cassowary jumps up and down to show that she has strong legs too.

Later, the little Tree kangaroo can be found sitting in the tree tops feeding on leaves. They taste so much better now, because he picked them all by himself. Additionally, green tree frogs are hiding behind Licuala palm leaves.

Beautiful illustrations of the rainforest are setting the scene. They include Licuala palms, Elkhorn and Staghorn ferns, as well as vines and tree ferns.

This Australian marsupial’s habitat is Far North Tropical Queensland in Australia.
