Over 15,000 tonnes of plastic wipes are used in Australia each Year (that’s 20 times the weight of plastic straws used until recently)! More than 95% of that is from imported products. Something had to change – with greater than 20 million individual pieces of plastic waste created from wet wipe usage each day in Australia, we realised now is the time to make a locally made product that makes a difference.

Our Who

Our Founders, Phil and Corey having both owned their own businesses manufacturing and importing plastic based materials. They have seen first hand:

· The inputs and processes involved in plastic manufacturing

· The sheer volume of disposable soft plastics and lack of ability to process them properly in the industrial and medical industries

· The positive response from consumers, industry and government when presented with alternative compostable, reusable, or recyclable solutions And so, they created The Hygiene Co., Australia’s only plastic free wet wipe innovator and manufacturer.
