All Sutton HSGT Taps up to 3/4” (20mm) are ground from solid HSS hardened blanks. This technique presents the hardened tap blanks with a uniform homogeneous grain structure ready for flute and thread grinding operations.
The resultant taps are tough with a ground all-over finish, producing smoothly blended flute and thread forms of precise geometry throughout their length.
Straight flute taps are available in M, MF, UNC, UNF, BSW, BSF, BA, BSB, G threadforms and Taper, intermediate, bottoming chamfers.
General purpose use.
Suitable for materials up to 1000Nmm2
Through & blind holes
Suitable for both hand and machine operations
Depths up to approx. 1 x d
