All Sutton HSGT Taps up to 3/4” (20mm) are ground from solid HSS hardened blanks. This technique presents the hardened tap blanks with a uniform homogeneous grain structure ready for flute and thread grinding operations.
The resultant taps are tough with a ground all-over finish, producing smoothly blended flute and thread forms of precise geometry throughout their length.
Gun taps are available in M, MF, UNC, UNF, BSW, G threadforms and Bright, Blue, TiN finish.
General purpose use, suitable for materials up to 1000Nmm2.
