6th book in a series of 14 beautifully illustrated children's books of iconic Australian creatures.
First of all, at the beach, baby turtles are hatching out of their eggs. The cassowaries are watching from the edge of the rainforest, which are characters from Cassy’s Tale. Next, the hatchlings are crawling into the tropical sea. However, Shelly is eager to explore and has adventures on her journey. As a result, she finds many interesting things including a shipwreck.
While diving into the depths of the ocean, Shelly is seeing clown fish nestling in a sea anemone. A crab is watching her. The art work is of many beautiful fish, including angel and lion fish. Apart from this, sea snakes, dolphins, clam shell, sea grass and brilliant corals are featured.
Later, Shelly spots a crocodile amongst many jelly fish. Luckily, it’s only little Nipper from Nipper the Crocodile. Clearly, she gets a big fright, which is humorously illustrated.
Further on, Shelly finds a shipwreck. A moray eel is peeking at her from a shipwreck’s porthole. This results in her surfacing. She spots sky divers and kayaks in the Coral Sea. Finally, the sea turtle will return to lay her own eggs where she hatched.
