7th book in a series of 14 beautifully illustrated children's books of iconic Australian creatures.
First of all, a trail of caterpillars is crawling up a tree. A tree kangaroo group is watching. Bobby’s mother explains they are called Ulysses butterflies. Hence, they are spotting Lyssie. She lands on the cassowary father, which teaches Cassy about butterflies. The next landing spot is on the snout of Nipper the crocodile’s mother.
However, the butterfly befriends Big Blue, another butterfly, and they join butterflies feeding on rainforest blossoms. Included in the art work are the Cairns birdwing and blue tiger butterfly.
Different species of butterflies and caterpillars are nestling in the leaves. The art works shows eggs, different stages of caterpillars and the attached pupa. The Ulysses butterflies are shown climbing out of the pupa.
In addition is art work of dragon flies, rainbow lorikeet, scrub turkey and the Evodia tree.
