Australian Mango Wood 30cm Salad Bowl

The Mango tree was brought to Australia more than 200 years ago and is now considered domesticated here. We think of the Mango tree mostly as a supplier of delicious fruit but Mango wood is a particularly good woodworking timber with fine grain, colour and beautiful figuring. This particular design is a classic salad bowl shape with its wide rather than deep proportions and rolled rim, the sort of shape you might draw if asked to do a salad bowl! The 30cm size is very versatile, catering for up to 6 people and doubling happily as a fruit bowl if preferred.
