The AlphaFit Core Incline Smith Machine is ideal for any commercial gym looking to incorporate serious plate loaded strength training into their facility. With a frame constructed from heavy-gauge steel and coated in our unique textured powdercoat, the Core Incline Smith Machine offers a safe and effective way to conduct a variety of movements including overhead presses, squats, bench presses, bent over rows, deadlifts, floor presses, hip thrust and lunges. The Core Incline Smith Machine with Top Stop and Lockout showcases two additional features. The Top Stop provides the ability to set a top limit for the barbell or temporarily lock the bar at a set height. The Lockout hides the catch racking system allowing free, uninterrupted motion of the barbell through your workout.
Featuring a 7-degree tilted frame, the Core Incline Smith Machine follows the body’s natural movement path for pressing or squatting, maximising muscle interaction. Engineered with an open, walkthrough design, the working area is large enough to comfortably conduct a variety of exercises unobstructed. With a total machine height of 2600mm, it has been designed specifically for a 95th percentile male to conduct overhead presses with full extension. This capability was requested by industry experts and ensures AlphaFit's range of Smith Machines are the first to market catering to requirements of tall athletes.
Gliding on ultra-smooth dual linear bearings, the bar has a maximum racking height of 2320mm. The Olympic length barbell has a starting weight of 10kg and can be stacked with up to six 25kg weight plates on each sleeve. The bar sleeves independently rotate to mimic an Olympic bar meaning the user doesn’t need to battle with inertia from the plate load when racking. The stainless steel catch has 32 racking positions in 60mm increments across a 1970mm barbell travel range, offering secure nesting of the bar with finer adjustment than many other machines on the market. The bar carriage's dual needle roller bearings allow the barbell to be easily rotated from the wrist, no matter how much weight is on it.
For peace of mind when squatting, the two adjustable drop stop trolleys are operated with a pull pin and can be set at 33 different height settings in 60mm increments. This feature removes the need for a spotter and ensures each user will find a safe and comfortable base position for their lowest range of movements. Additionally, the minimum bar height is 350mm off the ground when sitting on the lowest drop stop setting. This is specifically designed with deadlifts in mind.
The completely covered cable tower also protects all moving parts for both safety and aesthetics, and eliminates any concern for users pinching fingers. The Core Incline Smith Machine includes eight premium Mini Storage Pins so that you can keep your weights close to where you’ll need them. Each pin offers 225mm of storage space and has a load rating of 100kg.
Smith Machines limit the range of motion to help achieve correct posture when lifting. A stabilised bar path can be less intimidating for beginners however can also provide greater targeting of muscle groups for elite lifters where biomechanics are optimised. An inclined or angled frame, specifically at a 7° away tilt, ensures the barbell's glide path follows a user's instinctive movement path for pressing or squatting. Benefits of the Top Stop feature:
Two HDPE lined top stops provide the ability to set a top limit for the barbell. This is useful in restricting extension and maintaining tension in the muscles through your workout sets for maximising muscle growth potential. The trolley, weighing 2.5kg, can be used in conjunction with the drop stops to lock the barbell in position to use for force pad testing or to create a setup for pull ups, push ups, rows and single leg lunges.
Benefits of the Lockout feature:
The Lockout provides the functionality to cover and 'lock out' the catch racking system of the barbell. By pulling the handle on the front left of the frame upwards, users engage the Lockout system. Steel plates then cover the catch preventing the user from accidentally twisting the bar and racking into the hooks mid set. While allowing for free, uninterrupted movement of the barbell along its path, users can still rotate their wrists and the bar during exercises. Best used for lighter, controlled reps, simply disengage the Lockout to re-rack the weight after conducting the set.
