Last month the Australian Made team headed up to Queensland to support automotive manufacturing in Australia and highlight the importance of Australian Made products at the 2019 Brisbane Truck Show.

Australian Made licensee, Volvo Trucks Australia, made a big statement at the show with the launch of its all-new FH Globetrotter XXL cab.

With Australia’s vast distances many drivers spend extended periods away from home, the new supersized version of Volvo’s FH cab responds to the truck industry’s demand for extra living space.

Tony O’Connell, Vice President of Volvo Trucks Australia, said the Volvo FH Globetrotter XXL underlines the importance of the Australian market and customers within Volvo Trucks’ global operations.

“Australia is one of a very few selected markets that will see the all-new XXL cab, and it has been designed with Australia’s vast distances in mind,” said Mr O’Connell.

“We listened to our customers and developed a truck that delivers world-class driver comfort and is a home-away-from-home when drivers are out on the road.”

Another Australian Made licensee, MaxiTRANS, the largest supplier of locally manufactured, high quality heavy road transport trailer solutions in Australia, was front and centre at the show with its most recent brand acquisition, Trout River Australia.

Andrew McKenzie, MaxiTRANS Group General Manager for Sales and Marketing said, “Focusing on the theme of safety, efficiency and reliability, our expo display included a Live Bottom Floor trailer. An enhanced solution for bulk transport applications that perfectly complements the existing MaxiTRANS portfolio.

The ability for it to unload its content while in motion using an interior conveyor belt system, offers operators a safer and more versatile alternative to unload in unstable environments or where overhead obstacles exist.

What’s more, with a large range of specialised attachments to suit the Live Bottom Trailer, including the Chip Spreader, Diffuser, Side Conveyor, Shoulder Chute, Spreader and a Water Tank option, there’s a solution available to suit specific transport applications.”
