The Australian Made Campaign participated in the 14th China International Small and Medium Enterprise Fair (CISMEF) this month, held in Guangzhou from 10-13 October 2017.

This year, for the first time, the event included a special focus on cross-border e-commerce, which was coordinated by the newly formed Guandong Cross-Border E-commerce Industry Association (GCEIA).

Australian Made Retail Supporter, Oz-Town, provided AMAG logo licensees the opportunity to feature their products in an exclusively Australian-made section of the E-commerce Hall, which showcased more than 25 brands to thousands of buyers over the three-day exhibition.

The AMAG logo featured prominently at the Oz-Town stand, and at the special ‘Australian Made’ presentation to an audience of government officials, buyers, and a wide range of participants in the Chinese e-commerce sector during the morning of 12 October.

Australia’s Deputy Consul-General and Senior Trade Commissioner (Guangzhou), Paul, Sanda, opened the event and emphasised the presence of the AMAG logo in the Chinese marketplace.

Australian Made Campaign Chief Executive, Ian Harrison, was the keynote speaker, and explained the role the AMAG logo plays in promoting authentic Australian products, and its legal standing in the Chinese marketplace.

The presentation closed with the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the Australian Made Campaign and GCEIA, which aims to facilitate e-commerce business out of Australia into China.

GCEIA has thousands of members from the Chinese e-commerce sector, and will be encouraging them to use the product directory at www.australianmade.com.au to source authentic Australian goods.

The agreement is also expected to generate opportunities for licensees in China via GCEIA promotional activities and events. The Australian Made Campaign will publicise the events in newsletters as they arise.
