This month, Australian Made licensee Glanville & Co. was featured at a special exhibition at the Sydney String Centre in Chatswood, bringing together violinists, lutherie, and classical music fans alike.
Made in Australia: An Exhibition of Australian-Made Stringed Instruments celebrates the Sydney String Centre’s 35th anniversary and the rich history and continuing evolution of Australian violin making.

With more than 40 historic and contemporary instruments on display, the exhibition highlights generations of Australian makers and the craftsmanship, creativity and innovation that continue to shape the industry.
The opening night of the exhibition included a special quartet performance of works by Australian composers, a showcase of Australian rosin and the opportunity to enjoy Australian wine from local vineyards.

Guests were also treated to a tour of the Glanville & Co in-house workshop beneath the Centre, where they learned how the team of local luthiers use traditional violin-making techniques combined with contemporary design and technology.
Handcrafting violins since 1991, Glanville & Co. is a family owned-and-operated business that aims for all Australian musicians to have the opportunity to learn on and be proud to play Australian made instruments.
