On Wednesday, 27 November, Australian Made Campaign Deputy Chairman Allyn Beard presented at the Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI) Business Leaders Annual Dinner in Canberra.
The annual dinner was an opportunity for ACCI members to reflect on the past year and consider the agenda in business, government and public policy for the year ahead.
In an address to more than 350 guests including business leaders, politicians, senior bureaucrats, departmental heads and senior journalists, Mr Beard spoke about the importance of supporting local industry, the new ‘Australian Makers’ video series, as well as a unified approach to nation branding and the importance of the Australian Made logo, domestically and overseas.
The Hon Josh Frydenberg MP, Treasurer of Australia, was the guest of honour speaker for the evening, announcing the government’s new $540 million Business Growth Fund to invest in small and medium-sized Australian businesses.
After his address, Australian Made presented Mr Frydenberg with a 100% Merino wool, Australian Made retrospective 1938 Wallabies jumper donated by Australian Made licensee, The Vintage Football Jumper Company.
