Australian Botanical Soap

In early 2000 the choice of soap on the supermarket shelf was limited, most were small bars created from a tallow base (animal fat) and the soap lather was created by artificial foaming agents such as SLS, Sodium Laurel Sulphate.

Founder of ABS John Apperley saw a gap in the market for a chunky Pure Plant Oil soap bar and filled it.

Australian (owned and made) Botanical (Pure Plant Oil Base) Soap was created, a Natural base soap bar that is long-lasting and creates its own rich and creamy lather, not relying on chemicals to do the work.

From humble beginnings, being sold at local market stalls, ABS has grown to where we are today, which is worldwide.

Environmental awareness and implementation were always key in developing our range.

Our soap bars are not tested on animals, and we have always been dedicated to using sustainable pure plant oils in the manufacture of our bars.

Our soap is Biodegradable and can be used confidently in conjunction with greywater systems.

Our Natural soap base has a high Glycerin content, derived from pure plant oils, helping to moisturise your skin.

Organic Raw Shea Butter is added to all bars in our range, known for its high concentrations of fatty acids and vitamins it is an ingredient that can help to soften the skin.

All our bars are triple-milled.
The triple milling process mixes ingredients evenly, producing a denser bar with more soap and less water, giving the bar its longevity.

Quality ingredients are used when producing our soap, the list of ingredients we leave out are just as important.

Our natural soap base contains NO:
- Tetrasodium etidronate (EDTA), Parabens or Editronic acid (HEDP), used as artificial preservatives.
- Phthalates used as lubricants and softeners.
- Sodium Lauryl Sulphate (SLS), Sodium Laureth Sulfate (SLES), used to artificially create a soap lather.
- Propylene Glycol (PEGs), used as thickeners and softeners.
