Occsafety Pty. Ltd. Trading as AK Reels has manufactured retracting safety barrier and hose reels since 1992. Located in Thomastown, and currently the only certified Australian Made hose reel manufacturer in Australia. Air and water hose reels use all locally supplied materials and the factory for decades has had a policy of recycling the polypropylene used in the construction of the reels. OH&S over the years has dictated more exclusion zones for traffic management and workplace safety. The first safety retracting barrier reels were launched in 1992 and today the colour coded safety belt barriers are in use from indoor areas to the worksites on the largest mines in Australia.
