Co-founder Souraya Favaloro’s first experience with the world of skincare was as a wholesaler, supplying exfoliating products to brands around the world. Souraya’s own background was in couture fashion – working as a designer for over 20 years and always valuing the importance of quality Australian-made products. With an interest in skincare, years of craftsmanship experience, and a new passion to create something of her own, soon came the idea to create a skincare brand here in Australia.
“As a person who has struggled with acne, skincare has been a personal journey for me,” said Souraya. “Like so many others, I was frustrated with the lack of effective solutions on the market. It felt like I was chasing promises that were never fully delivered.
“I wanted to develop skincare products that weren’t just effective, but also held to the same high standards of quality that was valued in my fashion work.”
Working closely with a Melbourne-based biochemist with years of experience, Helloskin developed its high-concentration approach to skincare. The concentration and quality of formulation sets it apart from the market, focussing on delivering fast and visible results.
Another unique aspect of Helloskin is its approach to product formulation. Rather than offering all-in-one solutions, the brand creates targeted products that are designed to address specific skin concerns.
The recently launched Anti-Acne Serum is formulated to clear the skin without being too harsh. Featuring Azelaic Acid, which has now been TGA-approved for over-the-counter sale, this product allows Australians to utilise powerful acne-fighting properties in an effective way.
Helloskin’s products are all formulated and manufactured in-house in Melbourne. From research and development to ingredient selection, to sampling and testing, to even packing and shipping – the Helloskin team carefully oversees every step.
“What’s really special is that all of our team members use and love Helloskin products themselves, which is a true testament to our confidence in the quality and effectiveness of what we create,” said Souraya.
