Manufactured on the South Coast of New South Wales, Bloke Soaps are made from all natural, cruelty free ingredients. With an array of plant-based soaps, including both bar and liquid types, Bloke Soaps differ as they are made with men in mind.
Each of the products is inspired by different blokes founder and owner of Bloke Soaps, Will Kent has encountered over the years. He believes matching a scent to a personality is the key to a successful soap.
“Basing the range of soaps on the personality of my closest mates was where it all began. They all had such different personalities of which I associated a different scent to, and from those scents came the first range of Bloke Soaps,” said Mr Kent.
“The current range consists of three different scents, each representing a different bloke in my life. First on the list is ‘Laid Back’, offering a Hemp Oil scent that is indicative of a chilled out, down to earth kind of bloke. Next up, we have ‘Hands On’, which boasts a crisp Peppermint scent, illustrating the sharp and on the ball nature of a real go getter. The final scent in the range is Lemon Myrtle, introducing the ‘Trendsetter’ of the group.”
Choosing to ensure the products were manufactured in Australia was an obvious choice for Mr Kent when establishing Bloke Soaps, as supporting other Australians reaps a plethora of rewards.
“Using locally made, natural ingredients is a vital aspect of Bloke Soaps. Not only is the quality consistent but the relationships that are established with local manufacturers really defines the crux of the business. Keeping local people in work is not only vital for the Australian economy, it is important for the overall health and wellbeing of individuals around our country.”
“After the unexpected happenings of last year, it really has become a strong focus of mine to shift my mindset and buy local, and therefore promoting local innovation is a major motivation at Bloke Soaps.”
Joining the Australian Made Campaign in 2020, Mr Kent recognised the strength of the logo as a true mark of Aussie authenticity. Witnessing the growth of other Australian Made brands and seeing the trusted logo's ability to resonate within the community emphasized the impact the Australian Made Campaign would have on Bloke Soaps, both now and into the future.
Mr Kent said, “Being part of the Australian Made Campaign was a no brainer for Bloke Soaps. Associating our brand with the iconic green and gold kangaroo bought with it a sense of pride and real Aussie spirit, we couldn’t be happier to be part of such an awesome initiative.”
Whilst Bloke Soaps are typically made with men in mind, it’s important to note that the range of soaps works just as effective on women too.
Expanding the product range is one of the many aspirations of Bloke Soaps moving into the future. Mr Kent hopes to continue promoting local jobs and industries; alongside this is the desire to partner with local charities.
