Basil Infused Milk

A delicious and calming way to enjoy milk, infused with fresh basil, honey and cinnamon. Best served warm and suitable if you are struggling to sleep or unwind - thanks to the team at Composta Australia!

Ingredients

  • 350 - 400ml of milk (can be full cream, low-fat, soy, oat, etc.)
  • Bunch of fresh basil (ideally freshly grown in your own Composta!)
  • Cinnamon
  • Organic honey

Method

  1. Pour milk of your choice into in a medium saucepan on medium-low heat.
  2. Gently heat the milk to approximately 80°C. Do not allow the milk to boil.
  3. Wash a handful of fresh basil and gently crush the leaves with your hands. Stir into the milk.
  4. Add a pinch of cinnamon to taste and stir into the milk for a minute.
  5. Take milk of the heat and set it aside - allowing it to infuse for 5 minutes.
  6. Poor milk through a strainer into 2 glasses or mugs.
  7. Add a drop of organic honey to taste, and enjoy!
