Healthy Rum Balls

If you're looking for a healthy alternative to the sweet treats you crave, try this raw, gluten-free, sugar-free rum ball recipe, with optional styvia and rum for those feeling like that little bit extra.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter 
  • 1 cup milk 
  • 2 cups dates, finely chopped
  • 2 1/2 cups almond meal
  • 1 cup cocoa
  • 2 cups desiccated coconut
  • 30 mini cupcake foils


Optional:

  • 3/4 cups natural sweetener 
  • 1 tbsp rum

Method

  1. Place milk and butter (along with sugar if desired) into a saucepan and melt
  2. Mix in dry ingredients (along with rum if desired)
  3. Place the mixture in the freezer for 15 minutes to set
  4. Roll into walnut-sized balls, roll in desiccated coconut and place in mini cupcake foils.
