Toughened glass is a Grade ‘A’ safety glass made by heating annealed float glass to approximately 620°C, then rapidly cooling it with high-pressure air. This process creates compressive stress on the surface and tension at the centre, making the glass 4 to 5 times stronger than ordinary annealed float glass.
