It’s a constant challenge keeping pace with a world that moves faster every day. Shorter sight lines, greater competition and the constant threat of disruption now attack established business models from all directions. Unending change has become a business constant, where success is underpinned not by how big we are, but how fast we adapt and innovate.
Reducing costs and boosting performance are two ways businesses can articulate their value proposition to customers more efficiently. Since people represent approximately 85% of total administrative cost (alongside tech 5% and real estate 10%), it seems logical to focus on improving how we work while reducing the resources we need to get the job done.
We wanted to create a simple ‘platform’ to build all a modern office’s major work-settings from the same structural components. We envisioned it would support individual, group, linear, radiating, meeting and collaborative workstyles using one kit of parts while delivering easily retrofitted and cost-effective height-adjustability for greater employee wellbeing.
Our new work-settings had to hit a price point that appealed to the cost constraints of highly competitive markets. Their aesthetic should capture the imaginations and needs of all users regardless of culture, gender, age or profession. And we wanted to ensure their continuity, relevance and sustainability.
Each piece should have a consistent structure for each application with changeable covers to match individual brands and trends. And we decided to make our kit of parts even more sustainable and future-proof by ensuring its elements could be rearranged as a dining table for a second life after the office.
