Graine is a family owned and operated leather accessories label which was established in 2012.

All of our leather accessories are designed and made in-house at our Brunswick East, Melbourne factory by our skilled craftspeople using premium locally sourced Australian leathers. Our philosophy is to make timeless leather accessories with a focus on sustainability, functionality and durability.

Each piece we develop is unique with a subtle point of difference, with an emphasis on materials, functionality and durability. Our combined years of experience working in the leather industry have helped us create beautiful leather accessories that go ‘against the grain'.

Graine products are all designed and crafted in our Brunswick East factory which has been operating for over 75 years. We take great care and pride in our locally made products, each design is unlined for a more natural look and hot embossed individually with our Graine logo.

Graine items are made one at a time allowing our leather artisans to give the required care and attention to each piece. We work closely with our leather artisans and together we produce new design ideas and processes for our range.

We are avid supporters of local talent, local businesses and home grown products and believe it's important to keep these craftsmanship skills and traditions local which have been passed down through generations. We believe that owing one well-made product is far more rewarding and environmentally conscious than multiple mass-produced 'fast fashion' products and are very proud to be producing our leather goods locally.

LEATHER
We use high quality, full grain, and soft bovine leather on all of our Graine designs which we source from a Victorian tannery; these leathers are the by-product of the meat industry, as leather is a natural material our products can be recycled at the end of their life time. This tannery has the highest star rating from The Leather Working Group (LWG).

LWG is made up of member brands, retailers, product manufacturers, leather manufacturers, chemical suppliers and technical experts that have worked together to develop an environmental stewardship protocol specifically for the leather manufacturing industry. We have worked very closely with this tannery for many years and also them regularly. Knowing that the leather was sourced and produced locally in a sustainable way with a focus on minimising environmental impact adds great value to our leather goods. Leather is a natural product and at Graine we believe in conserving the environment and we use as much of the leather hide as possible in all of our designs.
