Dresden Vision

Dresden Vision is an Australian glasses and optical dispensing chain with locations across major cities in Australia. The company offers optometry services for eyesight testing and sells prescription glasses, sunglasses, blue light filter and contact lenses.

Dresden was co-founded in 2014 by Bruce Jeffreys and Jason McDermott in Sydney, Australia with its first store opening in the Inner Western suburb of Newtown. The company was built on simplifying the optical experience. With a core focus on affordable, practical and durable Australian made eyewear. Since opening their first store, the brand has expanded operations across Australia as well as New Zealand and Canada.

Dresden manufactures their own glasses frames in Australia from recycled and recyclable materials - offering a single frame shape in 4 sizes. These frames are manufactured through injection moulding using a recyclable nylon and is currently offered in 23+ colours. Dresden Vision also produces limited edition ranges of glasses frames from recycled materials. This includes a frame made from recycled banknotes and their black frame made from the waste generated in frame fabrication and the broken frames returned by customers.

Dresden Vision has maintained a core principle of a simplified optometry experience with an affordable and sustainable product since their conception. Believing that ‘glasses shouldn’t be precious’, the brand offers a 10 year warranty on their frames - with all returned broken frames and waste generated during manufacture sustainably reused to make new frames.
