ATO is short for the word "atopic" which describes conditions that occur when someone is overly sensitive to allergens in their environment such as harsh climate, pollens, mould, dust, animal dander, and certain foods. The pure natural active ingredients incorporated in ATO5 have been selected because they are known to help in the relief of the symptoms associated with contact dermatitis, rashes, extreme dryness and itching skin.
The key natural active ingredients are Colloidal Oatmeal, Beta Glucan and Sodium PCA. These are used in conjunction with Rose Hip, Shea Butter, Jojoba and Vitamin E to provide an outstanding cream.
Colloidal Oatmeal is a natural product that is an antipruritic (anti-itch). It helps reduce moisture loss from the skin to keep it soft and supple. Reduces redness and irritation.
Beta-Glucan Is a naturally produced extract linear polymer consisting of glucose molecules linked together in a particular fashion. It has a long history of safe use in skin care and dermatology as a long-lasting, film-forming moisturizer. It has also been shown to work as anti-irritant and to speed up healing of shallow abrasions and partial thickness burns
Sodium PCA occurs naturally in human skin and is responsible for binding moisture to the cells. Highly water-absorbent, holding several time its weight in water, which makes it an excellent humectant (moisturizing agent).
Rose Hip Oil is a fruit oil extracted from the hip or fruit of the Rose. Rose Hip Oil can be used on newborn babies to keep their skin nourished and healthy, it is easily absorbed and non-greasy. As a natural source of essential fatty acids and vitamins it moisturises and replenishes the skin, helping to protect it from dryness and itchiness.
