The Australian Made Campaign welcomes the announcement of the Federal Government’s inaugural Nation Brand Advisory Council, which includes Coopers Brewery Chairman and Australian Made Chairman, Glenn Cooper AM.

The industry-led Council is spearheading the project, first introduced last year by the Turnbull Government. Announced on July 8, the newly formed Council aims to strengthen Australia’s competitive export advantage by developing a “unified national brand”.

Australia Made Chief Executive Ian Harrison said the Australian Made Campaign supports the Federal Government’s commitment to a stronger, unified national brand.

“The already well-established Australian Made, Australian Grown logo should be a central part of the Government’s effort to support local farmers and manufacturers taking their goods abroad. It is by far Australia’s most recognised and trusted country-of-origin symbol,” he said.

“The iconic green-and-gold kangaroo logo has been clearly identifying Australian goods in export markets for more than 30 years with great success, so there is a pivotal role for the symbol to play in any ‘Brand Australia’ strategy.”

There are 10 other business leaders who join Mr Cooper on the Council: Qantas CEO Alan Joyce, Australia Post CEO Christine Holgate, Fortescue Metals Group and Minderoo Group Chairman Andrew Forrest, Tourism Australia Chairman Bob East, and Austrade CEO Dr Stephanie Fahey, A2 Milk CEO Jayne Hrdlicka, AESOP CEO Michael O’Keeffe, Atlassian Co-Founder Mike Cannon-Brookes, NAVITAS Group CEO Rod Jones, and Sydney Festival Artistic Director Wesley Enoch.

Australian businesses can contribute to developing Australia’s National Brand by completing this online survey that’s estimated to take between 5 to 25 minutes. The deadline for the online submission is 5pm Friday, July 6, 2018.
