Further to our previous advice on 27 July regarding the commercial operations of Longbeach Printing, the Australian Made Campaign has now been made aware of the following:
1. In early August, Longbeach Printing entered into a licence agreement with an established, third-party printing business, which has enabled the operation at Longbeach’s Seaford North plant to continue, including for the full range of Australian Made merchandise.
2. Subsequent to that agreement being entered into, Longbeach Printing’s shareholders have placed the company into liquidation but the liquidator has granted permission for the licence agreement referred to in 1. above to continue in the short term while a more permanent solution is sought.
3. AMCL understands that, whilst there is the possibility that the third-party printer takes over the Longbeach Printing business on a long-term basis, there is also the possibility that the liquidator could cancel the licence with the third party printer at any time and commence the liquidation process.
4. So, the situation regarding the supply of Australian Made merchandise remains OK at present but could change at any time. Licensees need to be aware of this.
AMCL apologises for the inconvenience caused by the disruption to the Longbeach Printing arrangements and will be sure to keep licensees up to date with any further developments.
For further enquiries, please do not hesitate to contact the Australian Made Campaign on 1800 350 520 or info@australianmade.com.au.
