Tennis champion Alicia Molik is serving up an Australian Made Summer of Tennis, as the face of a campaign that celebrates sporting achievements while highlighting the importance of buying Australian products and produce.
Events that feature as part of the campaign include:
- The Australian Made Foundation Cup – Melbourne, 6-10 January
The only national tennis tournament for junior players from rural and regional Australia
- Breakfast with the Stars – Sydney, 7 January & Melbourne, 14 January
Official Tennis Australia events which promote the achievements of women in tennis, held ahead of the Apia International and Australian Open
- Australia Day Kid’s Tennis Clinic with Alicia Molik – Melbourne, 26 January
A free event from 9.00am-11.00am at the East Melbourne Tennis Centre, open to kids of all ages, aimed at encouraging families to stay active and buy local. Kids can have a hit with Alicia, see how fast their serve is and get tips on improving their game, while parents enjoy delicious Aussie products and produce. The Bean Alliance will be offering parents free Australian Grown coffee, SPC Ardmona will be giving away Australian Grown baked bean toasties and Kellogg's will be giving away a selection of Australian Made cereals. We hope to see you there - don't forget your racket!

The Australian Made Summer of Tennis campaign will be featured across national television, radio, print and online media from November and throughout Summer.
“The Australian Made Campaign is all about ensuring a better future for Australians, and these events help get the very important message out there about buying local, which has a positive impact on all of us, in many ways, now and down the line,” Australian Made Chief Executive, Ian Harrison, said.
Alicia Molik said that she was delighted to be the ambassador for the Australian Made Summer of Tennis.
“These events give regional and rural kids the opportunity to participate at the highest level, and encourage greater participation by women – I’m proud to be a part of that,” Ms Molik said.
“Part of my role involves educating families about the importance of buying local. It’s something I’m passionate about, because I believe we should teach our kids where products come from, and feed them fresh Australian-grown produce so they grow up healthy.”
