Last week, Australian Made Campaign was proud to attend the official launch of the first Australian Made OEM electric trucks by Volvo Group Australia.

Manufactured by local workers at Volvo Group Australia's Queensland facility, this milestone showcases the capability, expertise and ingenuity that exists within the local manufacturing sector.
The event brought together Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, Volvo Group Executive Vice President and President of Volvo Trucks Roger Alm, Volvo Group Australia President & CEO Martin Merrick, Linfox CEO Mark Mazurek, Electric Vehicle Council CEO Julie Delvecchio and Australian Made Chief Executive Ben Lazzaro to celebrate this significant achievement.

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese said, “We have all the resources to be a clean energy superpower – under the ground and in the sky – and projects like this show just what’s possible. Electric-made trucks built right here in Brisbane will keep Australia moving now and into the future.”

Volvo Group Australia has been manufacturing trucks in Queensland for more than 50 years and is on track to produce its 85,000th Australian-made truck.
Australian Made Chief Executive Ben Lazzaro said, “This is a major milestone for Australian manufacturing and a testament to the skill and capability of Australian workers.”
“The first Australian-made electric trucks demonstrate how local manufacturing can drive innovation, support sustainability goals, and strengthen our economic future.
"Volvo’s investment in local production is creating jobs, building sovereign capability, and delivering world-class products made right here in Australia.”
