Markets are an important backer of Australian makers of and the locally-made industry – being a place that connects shoppers directly with small, handmade businesses.
The Makers and Shakers Market is a proud Australian Made Event Partner and stands as a champion of local makers. This month, Makers and Shakers held their first Melbourne market of the year at the Royal Exhibition Building in Carlton.
Running from 5 - 6 April, the iconic building was abuzz with excitement, curiosity and community. Over the weekend, hundreds of shoppers connected with a curated selection of established and emerging creatives, enjoying a beautiful display of colours and textures.
From homewares and slow fashion to accessories and snacks, the range of items across over 150 stalls was wide, but they all had the common theme of being made lovingly by hand.
The Australian Made team debuted its new stall created by Market Stall Co, a local display stand manufacturer. The team spoke to shoppers and exhibitors about the benefits of choosing Australian Made products and the strong attributes that the logo carries for businesses.
It was also great to see so many certified Australian Made businesses proudly displaying the green and gold kangaroo logo at their stalls – showing their certified Australian credentials and standing out from the crowd.
