As we enjoy the hustle and bustle of Christmas-time excitement, it’s important to remember that this time of year can be hard on some families. Due to serious illness and health issues, many children across Australia are unable to enjoy the festive season or comforts of home, as they need to stay close to vital hospital care.
In the spirit of Christmas giving, twelve Australian Made licensees have donated their locally made products for inclusion in an Australian Made care package for families staying in Ronald McDonald Houses.
Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) is an independent, not-for-profit organisation dedicated to providing vital programs for families with seriously ill children. The charity helps families feel welcome and cared for while they are going through stressful medical procedures and challenging times, providing families with furnished bedrooms, lounges, kitchens, play areas, and laundry and pantry facilities.
Australian Made and its licensees continued the annual tradition of gifting care packages to families staying at Ronald McDonald House North Fitzroy, at Casa Elda Vaccari.
A mixture of fun, practical and innovative items, each care package contained products made by the following generous Australian Made businesses:
- Eva Books: Children’s book
- Everescents: Shampoo & Conditioner
- GAIA Skincare: Hair & Body Wash
- Goodeau: Mineral Deodorant Cream
- Juuce: Shampoo & Conditioner
- Jomila: Lip balm
- Miracle Plant: Deep Sleep Natural Perfume
- Red Parka: Notebook
- So Natural Company: Soap
- Sun Zapper: Sunscreen
- Tooth Fairy & Co: Toothpaste
- Windmill Toys: Stuffed Koala Toy
Australian Made Chief Executive Ben Lazzaro said that Australian Made’s sponsorship with RMHC is a valuable opportunity to give back to those in the community who need it most. “We’re thankful for the opportunity to support Ronald McDonald House Charities and hope the care packages can be a useful and enjoyable resource at a tough time of year,” said Lazzaro.
“We’re very grateful to all the businesses who’ve joined us by donating their Australian Made products to such a worthwhile cause. It’s encouraging to see licensees connecting with local communities and really championing the Australian spirit.”
