Australian Made is supporting local farmers and rural communities by bringing a taste of regional Australia to the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) for two milestone Australian Football League (AFL) matches.
High-quality Australian fibre products will be front and centre when Collingwood and Essendon Football Clubs go head-to-head at the 2019 ANZAC Day Game on Thursday, April 25 and the Australian Made logo will feature as part of the AFL’s Country Game on Sunday, May 05 when Essendon plays Geelong Football Club.
Football fans will have the chance to win a family pack of heritage AFL jumpers, beanies and scarves made locally from Aussie wool by Australian Made’s newest licensee The Vintage Football Jumper Co.
“The Australian Made Campaign rallies behind more than 200 businesses that produce fashion and accessories here in Australia,” Australian Made Campaign Chief Executive, Ben Lazzaro, said.
“By purchasing a vintage AFL jumper, you are not only supporting your footy team, you are supporting the local manufacturers and wool farmers behind the brand”.
The AFL’s Country Game is an initiative established by football legend Kevin Sheedy to bring attention to the important role that regional and rural communities play in the success and prosperity of the AFL. Fans will be treated to the Country Festival, including a live concert and farmers’ market prior to the game.
The Australian Made Campaign will feature prominently around the MCG precinct as well as during the game’s radio coverage.
