Australian food and beverage products sold within Australia do not use the Australian Made, Australian Grown logo as a standalone country of origin symbol, and do not need to be licensed with the Australian Made Campaign (AMCL).
Although food labels include the green and gold kangaroo logo, Australian Made Campaign is not involved in administering or promoting food labels.
For more information on resources for food labelling in Australia, please see the Department of Industry's website.
Under the Australian Federal Government's 2016 Country of Origin labelling laws, it is mandatory for food that is grown, produced or made in Australia to be labelled with the Australian Made kangaroo symbol, and a bar chart with accompanying text that shows the proportion of Australian ingredients.
Do I need to license my food products with the Australian Made Campaign to use the logo?
No. Australian food and beverage products sold within Australia do not use the Australian Made, Australian Grown logo as a standalone country of origin symbol, and do not need to be licensed with the Australian Made Campaign.
Can I license my food products with Australian Made Campaign if I export?
Yes. Australian food labelling requirements are not mandated for exported food products. You can still apply to use the Australian Made logo on food products exclusively for export. Apply here to use the logo.
How do I access the kangaroo logo for my food products?
Visit industry.gov.au/country-origin-labelling to find resources on food labelling in Australia. This is administered by the Australian Federal Government - not the Australian Made Campaign.
I have a complaint about food labelling being misleading/ incorrect / unacceptable
